General information on EAHC

The EAHC (Executive Agency for Health and Consumers) was founded on 1st January 2005. (founding name: "Public Health Executive Agency"). The headquarters of the EAHC are in Luxemburg. The EAHC works on behalf of the European Commission. There is close coordination with the Directorate General of Health and Consumers.

Research Programmes of the EAHC

Funding through the EAHC is possible via the following programmes:

• Health Programme
• Consumer Programme
• Better Training for Safer Foods

Aims of the EAHC

The most important aims of the Health Programme are:

• Improved health protection of the citizens
• Promotion of health, including the decrease of inequalities in health care
• Creation and circulation of information and knowledge concerning health issues.

Funding volume and amount of projects

In the field health, approx. 200 projects are currently being carried out and funded. The annual budget is at 45-50 million Euro.
